Designers of SmithMatthias are a two-person team that created Ooty with an exploratory and reductive philosophy in mind, stripping a concept to its bare essentials. This stool is unobtrusive with its simple design, but its vibrant coloring and intricate details like edge chamfers and triangular shapes make Ooty an unmistakable piece that elevates its environment. Ooty comes in two models: one with an upholstered seat pad and one without. Both frames are made of plywood with an ash veneer finish. This stool is also great for easy storage, capable of stacking up to 6 chairs at a time. The designers’ goal was to create a stool solution that was visually and physically light, and they succeeded.
